Questions To Ask Your Plastic Surgeon Before You Get A Breast Lift With Implants

Breast Lift With Implants

Breast implants with lift is a major cosmetic surgery procedure, which will have a lasting effect on how you look and feel. Your decision to choose this surgery should be made after careful deliberation. You should go ahead with it only if you are personally inclined to enhance your breast appearance (and are not doing it under another person’s influence).

During your initial consultation, you will have an opportunity to ask questions from your surgeon. Make the most of this opportunity to clear all your doubts and concerns. A dedicated surgeon will take care to answer your questions with accuracy and in full details so that you can make a well-informed choice.

Key Questions to Ask Your Plastic Surgeon

  • Are you board certified in plastic surgery, and if yes, from which board?
  • How many years of training and experience do you have in plastic surgery procedures?
  • Have you previously performed breast plastic surgery procedures, and what is your success rate in these surgeries?
  • Do you think I am a suitable candidate for breast augmentation with lift surgery, or should I just choose one of these two procedures?
  • What type and size of implants would you recommend for me as part of this surgery?
  • What will be length and placement of my incisions and would it leave significant visible scarring later on?
  • Is there any preparation I should do to make my surgery safer and to recover more quickly?
  • Will I be able to breastfeed in the future after my breast implants with lift surgery?
  • How long should I expect the results of my surgery to last, including the average lifespan of breast implants?
  • How much time with the surgery take in the operating room?
  • Would you perform the procedure at a hospital or a surgery center?
  • Will I have to undergo general anesthesia, and will it performed by a qualified anesthesiologist?
  • What are potential risks and complications involved in anesthesia and surgery?
  • Is the recovery going to be long and painful, and how many days of leave should I apply for at my workplace?
  • Can you share with me some of the patient testimonials of your past patients as well as breast implants with lift before and after images?
  • Is your practice equipped to deal with medical emergencies, should it arise during or after my surgery?
  • Do you have a policy for revision surgery procedures, if the results of my primary breast lift with augmentation are not good?
  • How much will the procedure cost me, including the pre- and post-operative expenses?
  • Can your office guide or assist with me regarding the financing options and explain the payment terms to me?

You may note all your questions in advance and carry the list along with you for the consultation. This will ensure no vital questions get missed out. Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas and nearby areas for breast lift with implants surgery.

How much does a breast lift with implants cost?

Breast lift with implants

How much does breast reconstruction cost? | Houston, TexasBreast implants with lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to elevate the position of breasts, while enhancing their fullness and volume. The combined procedure is more cost-effective compared to a situation where both breast augmentation and breast lift are performed separately at different times.

During the initial consultation, your surgeon will discuss various aspects of the procedure, including its estimated costs. A responsible surgeon will try to ensure you have clear and accurate information about the costs, so that you can make a well-considered decision.

Factors Influencing the Cost

The costs of breast augmentation with lift plastic surgery will vary from one practice to another, and may even vary from one patient to another at the same practice in some cases. The following key factors will impact the overall cost of your combined breast surgery.

Location Factor

Where the practice is located will impact the overall cost of breast lift with implants surgery. The cost of living in prime urban centers and cities around the coastal regions is typically higher than the costs in smaller towns and interior regions. Employment rates, median household incomes, real estate costs, and local taxation can vary between two cities, which will have an impact on the average costs of all types of products and services, including cosmetic procedures.

Anesthesia and Surgical Room Costs

Breast augmentation with lift plastic surgery will be performed using general anesthesia. An anesthesiologist or a registered anesthetist nurse will perform the anesthesia. Their fee can vary according to their skills and qualifications. The procedure may be performed at a hospital, an accredited surgical center, or a private surgical suite. The costs and benefits in each case will vary.

Fee Charged by the Cosmetic Surgeon

The surgeon may charge a fee for your breast lift with implants according to their qualifications, experience and track record in performing breast procedures. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) recommends that patients should choose the best surgeon for their needs, and elements such as the surgeon’s fee should only be secondary considerations to such a decision.

Breast Implants and Other Costs

Your breast lift with augmentation cosmetic surgery will involve the placement of breast implants. The cost of the latest qualities in ultra cohesive gummy bear implants could be slightly higher than the cost of conventional silicone or saline implants. The size, shape, and texture of the implants may also make a difference to the monetary amount

You should also consider additional cost components such as the costs of pre- and post-operative medical tests, mammograms, prescription medications, surgical bra, and any other surgery or recovery related expenses.

These costs may appear small at the outset, but they can combine to form a significant amount at the end. Therefore, you should account for them at an early stage when you planning your budget for the breast lift with augmentation surgery.

Recovery From Breast Lift Surgery With Implants Surgery

Breast Lift with Implant Surgery

Breast augmentation with lift is a transformative cosmetic surgery that can create exciting results for your overall body appearance and personality. While the skill and experience of your surgeon will play a key role in the success of your procedure, how well you follow the surgeon’s instructions for post-operative recovery will also make a difference to your results.

Recovery Timeline

You should take it easy in the first few days, and confine yourself to home at least for the first week. Your surgeon will encourage you to perform short walks and light activities at home after the first two to three days so that the blood flow to your incision areas can improve. They will also prescribe some mild pain medications to keep you comfortable in the first few days.

Most of your bruising in the incision sites will resolve by the second week, but the swelling is likely to disappear very gradually over several weeks or months. In about 10 to 14 days after your surgery, you can go back to your normal routine or join back at the workplace.

However, you should continue to avoid heavy lifting of weights, bending, and doing vigorous activities or exercises for at least four to six weeks. In the first month, you will probably be using a special surgical bra provided by your surgeon. This will provide extra support to your breast tissue until it firms up and acquires its final shape.

What to Expect

Some degree of numbness or altered sensation is expected in your incision areas, and particularly in the nipples and areolas. This will resolve slowly on its own in most cases. If you experience some stinging sensation initially in these areas, it is normal and expected.

Your surgeon may suggest you to have massage therapy in the breast area during your recovery phase. But this must be done only under the supervision or guidance of a trained therapist. Your temporary drains and sutures may be removed in about a week to 10 days after your surgery.

Swelling will be more pronounced in the first two weeks, but will gradually subside and you can notice the actual results of your breast lift with implants plastic surgery with the passage of weeks. In the first few weeks, the scars will appear red and lumpy. But they will progressively lighten, and in about six months to a year, the scarring will be reduced to thin, white lines.

Tips for Safer Recovery

Avoid sleeping on your abdomen or sides for the first few weeks, until the healing has significantly improved. Even at the end of the first month, if your surgeon allows you to resume your exercise and fitness regimen, you may continue to avoid specific activities such as tennis or golf that may put excessive strain on the chest.

Refrain from smoking during the recovery phase for as long as your surgeon advises it. Female cosmetic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak receives patients from Houston, Texas, and nearby areas for breast lift with implants surgery.
