Named after the German gynecologist, Ernst Gräfenberg, the “G”- spot is an erogenous area in the anterior vagina that, in some women, can be stimulated to cause vaginal arousal. It is important to note that not all women have an area in this region for enhancement and not all women can experience orgasms vaginally. This is normal. As such, injecting this area will not allow a woman that doesn’t already get pleasure from stimulation vaginally to suddenly get it.
Enhancement is a simple office procedure that can be done under local anesthetic. It involves the injection of a small amount of dermal filler (most common in the family of hyaluronic acids) into a location that you and Dr. Hustak determine at the time of your examination as a point of maximal sensitivity. This is usually approximately 1-3 inches in the vagina just past the vaginal opening. After injection, a tampon will be inserted to absorb drainage. This can be removed after 4 hours. Mild spotting is normal. No vaginal intercourse is advised for 24 hours. There are no restrictions thereafter. The results are temporary and effect time varies between patients but in generally 3-5 months.
