Treatment
MiraDry uses a proprietary miraWave energy to target and destroy the glands which produce sweat and odor in your underarms. Once these are gone, they do not grow back, so they are eliminated for good. The underarm sweat glands are only 2% of total body sweat glands so they can be eliminated without increased sweating in other areas.
This is a simple procedure under local anesthesia that takes about 90 minutes. Afterwards, you may experience soreness, swelling, numbness and tingling that moves to hypersensitivity in the treated areas. This is transient and typically resides within 2 days to 2 weeks.
Typically one treatment is sufficient for most people, but an additional treatment may be required for some patients with diagnosed hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Dr. Hustak and her staff will determine the best treatment plan for your desired results at your initial consultation.
