Education and Training
Dr. Hustak graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Medical Technology from Ohio State University in 2004. She then pursued her medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2008. During this period, she also completed a medical mission to Peru, which helped to expand her international surgical interests.
Dr. Hustak invested six years to complete a highly competitive integrated plastic surgery program at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. She trained along with leading surgeons at various eminent hospitals, including John Sealy Hospital, Shriner’s Burn Hospital for Children, MD Anderson Cancer Center, St. Joseph Medical Center, Clearlake Regional Medical Center, Houston Methodist St. John Hospital, and Mainland Medical Center.
Achievements during Training
Dr. Hustak’s commitment to excellence led her to achieve various accolades during her training years. She was chosen by her peers as the UTMB Plastic Surgery Resident of the Year in 2013. The very next year, she earned the Overall Outstanding UTMB Resident of the Year Nominee, an award only bestowed to a few residents that year out of over 500 residents.
Dr. Hustak additionally received the UTMB 2014 Outstanding Resident Leadership Award and the 2014 Golden Scalpel Outstanding Surgical Resident of the Year. She is currently recognized as one of the top female cosmetic surgeons in Houston, Katy, Texas, and nearby areas.
Super Doctor, Texas Rising Star, Top Business Woman
Dr. Hustak was named by Super Doctors as one of the Texas Rising Stars 2015, which is a prestigious media recognition for her contributions to the field of plastic surgery. Super Doctors identifies top doctors as chosen by their peers, apart from the independent research of MSP Communications. The selectors evaluate candidates on 10 key indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition.
Some of the important indicators include leadership positions, hospital appointments, fellowships, board certifications, publications and lectures, academic achievements and positions, and honors and awards. The top scoring doctors are included on the Super Doctors list, which comprises about five percent of the physicians in the state. No more than 2.5 percent of the doctors are also named to the Rising Stars list.
