Labiaplasty
In 2013, labiaplasty was the second fastest growing plastic surgery procedure in the US, with an increase of 44 percent over the previous year. Labiaplasty commonly involves reduction of the labia minora (inner vaginal lips), and in some cases, it may also include a correction of the labia majora (outer vaginal lips).
Problems such as asymmetry, elongated inner lips in comparison to the outer lips, difficulty in performing certain exercises or activities, interference in sexual activity, and restriction in wearing certain types of clothes can be corrected with labiaplasty.
Labia Majora Volume Enhancement
Labia majora may sometimes become loose or wrinkled due to loss of volume and poor skin elasticity. This can create both aesthetic and functional hurdles for a woman. The surgeon may perform a fat grafting procedure where the patient’s own living fat tissue from another area will be transferred to the labia majora. If the tissue overlying the clitoris is excessive and redundant, a clitoral hood reduction surgery may be performed. The surgeon will make a small incision to resect the loose tissue. Some tissue will be left in place to provide sufficient coverage of the clitoris during everyday activities. The procedure is often combined with other vaginal rejuvenation treatments.
Cosmetic Vaginoplasty
Loose or stretched vaginal canal can be tightened with cosmetic vaginoplasty. The procedure will involve removal of excessive vaginal lining, and may also sometimes require tightening of the surrounding muscles. The goal of cosmetic vaginoplasty is to enhance friction during intercourse to improve sensation and pleasure. Women may typically choose this surgery after childbirth, which can cause permanent stretching of the vaginal canal.
G-Spot Enhancement
The ‘G’ spot is an erogenous area in the front part of the vagina, which can be stimulated easily to cause arousal. The procedure can be performed in-office using only a local anesthetic. The surgeon will inject a small amount of dermal filler into the targeted area, which has been determined prior to the procedure as the point of maximal sensitivity.
